Do you have a lamp, small appliance, textile, or bike in need of repair?
Bring it to the Repair Fair!
This is a free public event. This is not an e-waste recycling event.
Volunteers and specialized repair professionals will be on-hand to repair* your items. We ask that you stay with your item while it's being fixed, so you can learn tips for future maintenance, how to shop for repairable goods, and even how to repair things yourself!
If you’d like to bring an item to repair, please register the item here . (Pre-registering allows us to prepare for your item!)
This Repair Fair will run in conjunction with the Windsor’s Earth Day Celebration.
This event will also include a Clothing Swap! Bring clothing and accessories to share and take home something new-to-you. Please limit donations to 1 bag per person (clean and good condition only, no undergarments or socks please), but take as much as you’d like! More about clothing swaps here.
*We cannot guarantee your item(s) will be repaired, depending on the existing damage or breakage, ability of volunteer fixers, and availability of materials for repair.
Note: we cannot work on microwaves, repair screens on cell phones/computer devices, or perform any welding/brazing, but we are happy to refer you to professionals who can. In addition, the textile department is not able to perform the following:
- Replacing zippers
- Repairing shoes, leather, or vinyl materials|
- Performing alterations (making garments bigger/smaller)
- Replacing rivets/grommets
- Hemming certain fabrics (stretchy fabric, sleek/luxury fabrics e.g. prom dresses)
If you are in need of garment hemming, we require that you please pin your garment to the desired length before you arrive.
