The annual Sonoma County Christmas Tree Collection Program runs the first two weeks in January.
Christmas trees are highly prized for their acidic qualities and can be recycled into mulch and compost. Please note that only real trees, free of all and any decoration, are accepted. Artificial trees that can no longer be reused must be placed in the trash.
Curbside: On your regular yard waste collection day, UNFLOCKED trees may be placed inside your yard waste container for pickup. The tree must be cut into pieces 4 feet or shorter to fit inside the container with the lid closed. Please remove all lights, tinsel, ornaments, and stands. Flocked trees must be discarded as trash.
Pickups: Call 707-565-3333 for an appointment to have a non-profit in your area pickup your tree. The pickup dates are December 29th and 30th, and January 5th, 6th, 12th, and 13th. Call before Friday, January 11th. The suggested donation for this service is $7 for trees less than 6 feet and $10 for larger trees.
