Electronics (E-waste)

Electronic waste (E-waste) is a category of hazardous waste and must be disposed in accordance with State and Federal laws. E-waste is prohibited from landfill disposal and requires special handling. Components of E-waste, including metals, glass, and some plastics, can be recycled while other components like lead need to be separated to protect the environment.

E-Waste:

Examples: TVs • Office equipment • Cell phones • Tablets • Printers • Computers • Laptops • Stereos • Game consoles • Cords • Medical equipment (CPAP and Bi-PAP machines)

Please remove batteries from devices prior to recycling. For proper disposal of batteries, see Household Hazardous Waste Facility for Residents

Free E-waste Recycling Event Calendar Zero Waste Sonoma has partnered with Conservation Corps North Bay to host free electronics collection events. No appointment necessary for these events. All events will be held in the parking lot.
