Plastic grass, otherwise known as artificial turf, is not recyclable, and must be disposed of in the landfill. Plastic grass, like any plastic when exposed to the elements, degrades into microscopic pieces -- microplastic. These particles pollute waterways, threaten environmental and human health, and are difficult and costly to manage. Plastic grass, at the end of its useful life, should be properly disposed in a permitted landfill.
