Notice is hereby given that on February 15, 2024, at or about 9:00 a.m., the Sonoma County Waste Management Agency “SCWMA” (also known as Zero Waste Sonoma) will hold a Public Hearing at Santa Rosa City Hall, located at 100 Santa Rosa Avenue, Santa Rosa, California to consider an increase to the disposal fees for Wood Waste and Yard Debris charged by SCWMA and collected by the County of Sonoma at its disposal sites.
SCWMA is considering increases in organics disposal fees by up to $7.75 above current levels, which would result in fees of $89.75 per ton for Wood Waste and Yard Debris. Final amounts will be determined by the Sonoma County Waste Management Agency Board of Directors following the Public Hearing.
SCWMA is considering increases to the surcharge rate by up to $0.92 per ton over current levels, which would result in fees of $9.52 per ton. Final amounts will be determined by the Sonoma County Waste Management Agency Board of Directors following the Public Hearing.
At the Public Hearing, SCWMA shall consider all evidence and testimony for and against the proposed fee increases. At any time prior to the public hearing, any person may file in writing with SCWMA a statement of his or her objections to the proposed fee increases. Persons who challenge the proposed fee increases in court may be limited to raising only those issues they or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this Notice, or raised in written correspondence delivered to the City at, or prior to, the Public Hearing.
