In collaboration with Daily Acts, Petaluma Bounty is showcasing their farm and distributing compost. Guest speaker, Lori Caldwell, from Alameda County JPA StopWaste will explain how compost is a great tool in mitigating climate change and walk through how you can make your own compost bins at home. She will identify common problems with making and using compost along with other tips and tricks to consider. The presentation will be followed by an optional volunteer opportunity of spreading compost onto the landscape. There will also be a FREE Compost Giveaway, so be sure to bring shovels and buckets to pick up compost for your home garden. Compost is certified organic from WM Redwood facility.
