Is your HHW from commercial activities? Services are available for businesses that qualify as Very Small Quantity Generators (VSQGs) per regulations (CCR Title 22 §66260.10), which are businesses that generate 100 kilograms (27 gallons liquid or 220 pounds solid) or less of hazardous waste per month. The Agency offers two options: the HHW Facility and HHW Collection Events. Appointments are required and fees apply. Visit the commercial HHW pages for more information.
HHW Collection Events: Every Tuesday from 4-8 pm, there is an HHW collection event somewhere in Sonoma County. Appointments are required for participation and exact locations will be provided after you make your appointment. A full schedule and more information can be found on the HHW Collection Event page.
HHW Rover Service: Have your household hazardous waste picked up at your home. Services are provided on a first-come-first-serve basis. Each Wednesday the HHW Rover serves a different region of Sonoma County. Allow several weeks’ advance notice. Visit the HHW Rover page for more information.
Reusing products is environmentally preferred over recycling or disposing. Help the environment and your wallet by visiting our HHW Reuse Area!
The Household Hazardous Waste Facility includes a reuse locker where new and nearly new products that have been discarded at the HHW Facility are made available to the public at no cost. Find items such as cleaning products, automotive products, or paint for free!
The reuse locker is open during regular HHW Facility hours and products are available on a first come, first served basis. Product availability varies.
The reuse locker has a wide selection of paint colors and can sizes. If you can't find enough of the same color, ask the facility staff for one of our special 5-gallon buckets of blended paint!
Latex paint that is collected through the HHW Facility is remixed into 5-gallon buckets and then offered in four standard colors:
Recycled paint is given away for free to residents or businesses on a first come, first served basis.
