The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) is mandated to regulate and manage waste tires within the state, including permitting commercial waste tire haulers.
Tires are banned from landfill disposal. All County Refuse Disposal Sites accept passenger tires for a fee. Transport up to 9 tires at one time; transporting more than 9 requires a special permit.
