Yard debris/wood

Yard debris and wood scraps such as garden and landscape prunings (maximum 4 feet long), grass clippings, leaves, and weeds are compostable.

Prohibited items include plastic bags (including compostable bags), palm fronds, pampas grass, or bamboo. These items wrap around grinding equipment and can potentially damage them. Poison oak, cactus, Sudden Oak Death infested material, animal waste, glass, and plastic are also prohibited as they contaminate the entire compost pile.

Recyclable wood includes lumber (unpainted, unstained), pallets, plywood, wood chips, wood siding, OSB (oriented strand board). Prohibited wood includes painted/stained wood, particleboard, MDF (medium density fiberboard), sawdust and pressure-treated wood. Nails okay. Please remove metal hardware.
