HEALDSBURG, CA — The city of Healdsburg will host a Household Hazardous Waste Recycling event allowing residents to dispose of items they may have lying around the house that cannot be taken out with their regular trash.
The event, held in conjunction with Zero Waste Sonoma, is scheduled for Sept. 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. and will provide safe, legal, environmentally sound collection and disposal services for residential household hazardous waste, the city said in a news release announcing the event.
The event is only open to Healdsburg residents who must have an appointment to participate, the city said.

Residents are advised to not transport more than 125 pounds or 15 gallons of household hazardous waste at a time. Waste delivered by businesses/for-hire haulers will not be accepted.
Zero Waste Sonoma also advised that containers should be less than 5 gallons in size. Boxes of waste should be placed in car trunk and remove all other items.
