SB 1383 Food Recovery Organization (FRO) 2023 Report

New State law, SB 1383 includes requirements for certain food generating businesses (EFGs) to donate edible food to a local food recovery organization (FRO) or service (FRS) and establish contracts or written agreements with them.  

Organizations receiving surplus edible food from donors must maintain documentation of the types and quantity of food (measured in pounds) recovered per month and the frequency of collections/deliveries from donors. 

The 2023 report is due April 1, 2024, by 5pm, for donations received in Calendar Year 2023 (January 1, 2023 - December 31st, 2023)

Consider providing records to donors to help them comply with reporting requirements.
