If you or your business have a small quantity of pomace from grapes or other fruit, one option is to have it hauled away by a hauling company. Additionally, there are sites open for drop-off disposal if you would prefer to self-haul.
For large quantities, many vineyards compost their pomace on site. Placing the finished compost on top of the soil returns the nutrients that would otherwise be lost, and this helps improve fruit production.
More information can be found through the Sonoma County Winegrowers and the California Association of Winegrape Growers.
Starting January 1, 2019, California state law AB 1826 mandates that commercial entities producing 4 cubic yards or more of solid waste must arrange for organic waste reycling services. For more information and resources, see this related page.
