Terra-cotta roofing shingles can be recycled with concrete to reuse as road base. Asphalt composition shingles are accepted for disposal. Wood shingles are accepted at construction and demolition facilities and can be either be recycled as wood scrap or disposed as pressure-treated wood, depending on the composition of the shingle. Metal roofing material can be recycled as scrap metal.
New or architecturally interesting roofing material (e.g., corrugated metal roofing from an old barn), can be donated at locations accepting reusable building materials.
